A year-round outdoor learning community rooted in nature, seasonal rhythms, and connection.

Wildflower Nature Cooperative is a year-round, all-outdoor nature gathering for families who want to learn, explore, and grow together in relationship with the natural world. We meet Tuesdays from 1:00–3:00 PM in the same forest each week, creating a familiar outdoor classroom where children can develop a deep sense of place and observe the beautiful changes of the seasons. Our program is led by nature guide Lisa and is organized into 4–6-week seasonal sessions, each centered around a special theme and culminating in a Nature Celebration where we gather to share new learning, discoveries, and skills.

Our forest classroom is a place for children to learn through movement, curiosity, observation, imagination, and hands-on experience. Depending on the season and current theme, our gatherings may include:

We believe children learn deeply when they have the freedom to wonder, explore, make, move, create, and participate in the world around them.

A Small Connected Homeschool Community

We intentionally keep Wildflower Nature Cooperative small and intimate so children and families can build meaningful relationships with one another and with the land. We are currently welcoming families with children in two general age groups: Ages 5–7 and Ages 8–10. Siblings of other ages are always welcome to join us.

Wildflower is more than a weekly program—it is a cooperative community. We invite families to contribute their time, talents, and ideas to help create a rich experience for everyone. Families who take on leadership roles can receive discounted session tuition in exchange for their contribution to the cooperative.

Current leadership opportunities include:

1. Songs & Stories Gatherer - FILLED
Help collect and share seasonal songs, folk tales, nature stories, poems, and other traditions that enrich our gatherings.

2. Field Trip Coordinator
Organize optional outings on days outside our regular Tuesday gathering. Field trips might include visits to local farms, hikes in new places, nature explorations, or community service projects.

3. Earth Skills & Natural Craft Guides
We welcome parents who have special skills, knowledge, or passions to share with the community. This might include herbalism, woodworking, weaving, natural dyeing, foraging, fire building, shelter making, basketry, nature crafts, gardening, or other earth-based skills.

We believe that every family brings something valuable to the community. Your knowledge, creativity, skills, and enthusiasm can become part of the learning experience for all of our children.
